Ophthalmology referrals in Swindon with Ida Gilbert

Ida Gilbert is a highly experienced veterinary ophthalmologist with a distinguished career spanning over two decades. She graduated from Bristol University in 1995 and has been specialising in veterinary ophthalmology since 1997. In 2001, Ida achieved the Certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and is now recognised as an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Veterinary Ophthalmology.

Ida’s expertise allows her to treat a wide range of ophthalmology cases, including complex procedures such as cataract surgeries. Although cataract surgery is not currently offered, she can assess all cases and treat most locally. Some surgeries may need to be performed at another site due to the specialised equipment required. However, post-operative care can typically be provided at the local clinic.

In addition to her clinical work, Ida is passionate about education and has visited numerous veterinary practices to help improve the general knowledge of ophthalmology among primary care veterinarians.
