We can facilitate therapy to help with recovery and rehabilitation from surgery and injury, to help alleviate symptoms of chronic conditions such as arthritis and to work alongside treatment plans for a range of conditions.
Many of our therapy sessions can be accessed via our nursing clinics, which you can find out more about here.
Read on below to find out more about specific therapy options, or speak to our team to find out more.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture can be an excellent and invaluable tool for pain control for chronic conditions.
Most pets tolerate the needles well and often relax during treatment.
We can use acupuncture to alleviate pain in pets suffering from musculo-skeletal disease, allergies, arthritis, skin conditions, digestive disorders and respiratory conditions.
Acupuncture can only be performed by trained vets, and we have several members of our team able to deliver this service. Speak to our team to find out more.
Laser therapy
Laser therapy is a safe, non-invasive treatment, which can provide effective pain relief and anti-inflammatory effects to targeted areas of the body.
It involves a focused beam of infra-red light, which is delivered into tissue with a very high peak power. These high power wavelengths of light are absorbed by tissue and can have many beneficial therapeutic effects.
Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy can be an excellent way to rehabilitate your pet after surgery, as well as helping alleviate symptoms of chronic arthritis and enabling assisted walking following a neurological or spinal problem that may have left a pet with reduced use of limbs.
Muscle wastage can begin within days of any period of immobilisation and it is very important to start rebuilding this muscle as soon as possible.
Sometimes standard physiotherapy is not appropriate and water-based exercise reduces the load through joints and increases strength as the muscles have to work harder.
We have close ties with a local pool and can provide more information and referrals for you.
